Author's Note : Ryan and Rylie are just friends in this story.
"Ryan, hey!" Rylie waved her left arm extensively until she caught the jogger's attention. The light drizzle made it difficult to see clearly, and Rylie watched as Ryan slowly made out who the blonde with an umbrella was. Casually, he paced himself towards her.
"You're soaked," were Rylie's first words to him. She tilted her umbrella towards him, but their height difference proved difficult for her to balance it. After being knocked in the head a few times, Ryan took hold of the umbrella and shielded Rylie from the April shower.
"I have two more laps to go."
"You already k
"Make your choice, Ryan."
Ryan felt Rylie scrutinized his expression as he faced her, irritation simmered silently beneath her blue-grey irises. Her usually kind voice had wearied into exasperation, as she repeated her question. "Well, which is it?"
"Right," he spoke thoughtlessly.
"Your right or my right?" Rylie asked, irked. She lifted her arms and shook the shirts, one in each of her hand.
"Mine." Ryan answered. There wasn't an erroneous reply to that question; it was made clear that he would return to their apartment that day with a few new clothes he hadn't asked for. Whether the buttons were made of clay or rubies, or if the sh
Author's note: Setting is Zack and Ava's first mission, way before the group even started.
A midnight blue shade colored the sky, with stars shining far in between. The night grew quieter - too quiet for Zack's liking. He had been waiting in the alleyway between a few abandoned warehouses since dusk. He was tipped off earlier that the ominous dark trade had chosen that spot tonight. Much like a black market, the items offered for purchase were illegal and often times dangerous. The underground affair wasn't of Zack's interest though; instead, he was pursuing a possible suspect whom he believed would be there.
Zack heard three loud plops,
It was a time to be joyous. The evening of Christmas Eve had begun with a magical entrance. Flakes of ashen snow trickled under the pale sky, decorated with streaks of pink and purple hues that reflected from a grand sunset. Cold breeze easily filled the lonely streets, as most people had opted for the snug and toasty warmth of a home occupied by their family members.
Although this wasn't the case for Zack, he equally felt a great joy and relief. The strenuous mission had finally come to its end. Earlier, the squad spent a tiring five hours working to retrieve Marilyn Hutton's earrings, an impromptu mission thought in the nick of time. The
Zack kept a detailed eye on the dozen set of surveillance videos that Ryan had rigged. Several of them showed the lounging areas, while a few focused on the entrance and hallways of the elite club. The Christmas function at the great hall was a good opportunity to find the criminals he had been tracking down. Zack's eyes observed the activities of the few suspects meticulously. With the help of Ryan's software program that highlighted each of the cons, Zack studied their behavior and their acquaintances. Having consumed himself in work, he heavily hesitated to reach for his phone when it rang.
Until he saw the caller ID.
"Ryan, can you
Nicky whistled his way through the cafeteria with a wide grin on his face. He was feeling a mixture of enthusiasm and fearlessness. He had put on his best casual clothes, he had taken a long, rejuvenating shower and he had picked out his favorite breakfast plates. Things were looking great. Walking to his squad's designated table, Nicky glanced at the wall-sized glass windows to witness a sunny day. No clouds in the blue sky. Mother Nature must be agreeing with his newfound happiness too.
"What's with the goofy look, golden boy?" Ava sneered when Nicky approached the table. Zack grinned and gave the girl a peck on the cheek before continui
Zack opened his eyelids lazily. He felt satiated after a good dream, though he was still slightly drowsy. Yawning, he turned his head to the right to see if his girlfriend had awakened, but she was facing away from him. Zack silently traced her recently cut silk-black hair that exposed her long, tanned neck. His heart swelled up by the simple sight of her lying next to him. Zack shifted over to get closer and kissed the back of her neck. There was no response; she stayed still like a log.
He grinned. Ava was a heavier sleeper than anyone he knew and that included Nicky, surprisingly. But he always enjoyed teasing her to wake up, especially o
Nicky held his breath. He heard a voice, her voice, but it was surreal at the same time. Forgetting about the tray of food splattered over his carpet, Nicky walked in a trance towards the door. He heard the voice again and swung the door wide open.
The figure turned her head and looked up in surprise. Nicky felt the moment froze as his eyes caught her doe-like eyes. When was the last time they looked directly at each other? Nicky felt his heart twang at the connection he had sorely missed.
"Didn't think you'd come," He said dryly, hiding his rapidly rising emotions.
"Well, I did." The red-head replied plainly.
They stood in an eternity
A Zack/Ava fic.
Note: Ava is in the squad, and they are currently on a mission.
"Zack, we've been spotted," said Ryan, as he jumped off the opening of their make-shift hide out. The agents were trying to set up a base to have a look-out for their archenemy's new location. They needed a safe shelter so that Ava and Rylie can stay guard from afar as the rest sneak in. It was a rare occurrence that all six agents are on the field during a mission like so. Usually, Ava would supervise from their headquarters while Rylie would stay close to a medical center in case of danger but the squad decided on a different strategy this time.
"Their
Zack/Ava fic! Yay!
Ava half-listened to the conversation the agents were having in the meeting. They had met to discuss their mission, which included organizing stealth plans and tactics to capture their latest target. 'More like arguing' thought Ava. Ryan had declared it best to perform a silent abduction, while Nicky insisted on luring the victim into captivity. The others defended different sides, while Rylie looked for a way to compromise. As the supervisor, Ava knew this was her cue to cut in.
"We'll go with Nicky's plan for now," she interrupted the conversation; much to the approval of the blonde-haired man. "Nicky, I need the sche
